The More You Know
  • Did you know that Oklahoma has only three seasons? Winter, summer, and tornado.
  • Did you know that by May 12th of the year you first begin homeschooling you will be so ready for the school year to end that you will start to incorporate into your curriculum things like jumping on the trampoline (counts as P.E.), games of Twister (reinforces the concept of left vs. right, also the colors green, blue, yellow, and red), and flower bed gardening (because nature = science).

Last Thursday, I took my two youngest daughters to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial, a place we had never previously visited. Today, April 19, 2011, is the sixteenth anniversary of OKC bombing, a tragic and horrific event in world history. In honor of that day in 1995, and in honor of every person who was affected and forever changed because of that day — all of us, really — I would like to share some of the photos I took on our visit to the site. I took over 200 photos and edited 23 for posting here.

Homeschool Classroom Makeover

Homeschool Classroom - Before

I’ve been homeschooling our two youngest daughters since mid-October. Our classroom is in the back part of the bedroom they share. Over spring break, the three of us decided we needed a change of pace, not to mention scenery, so we re-designed our work space. Here’s what we did.
