Am I the only person on the face of the planet who has not seen this video?
(Hint: for a more dramatic impact, turn your volume up.)
(Unless you no likey the Whitney Houston. Just saying.)

sniff.sniff.goosebumps.

Also — does anyone else think this would make a great ad for The New AT&T?
No?
Just me then?

My friend just sent me the same video clip this morning :) Pretty amazing stuff!! So no, your not the last person to see the video.

  2. That takes some solid brass balls! But I was all “AWWWWW” all through it.

  3. jody says:

No I’m the last to see it LOL. Amazing!!!! Do you think its for real?

  4. This really moved me and I must pass it on to my son who is an animal lover and a world traveler. He has been to see the animals in the wild and I know that he will love it!

  5. Deanna says:

Oh my gosh, I hadn’t seen it either- how amazing is that?
PS – I woke my husband up reading “modern romance”, I was laughing so hard…

  6. Sesame says:

Wow not what I expected at all..I actually thought there would be a twist in the tail and that the lion would go running and then attack the guys…nice one!

  7. Jay says:

I had seen it, quite some time ago, and it made me cry. Seeing it again now, I have tears streaming down my face once again. It’s just unbelievable that this huge cat would be so affectionate and gentle with his former ‘pride mates’ but you can’t fake this kind of vid, can you?

I imagine that they had a guy with a dart gun standing by, just in case, but even so, yes, they were brave.

I don’t believe it’s right to keep wild animals as pets for all kinds of reasons (not least the Exotic Pet Refuge down the road from here) but if that lion cub had to be bought by anyone, these two guys were clearly the perfect owners. That cat fell on his feet. ;)

  8. sizzle says:

I had never seen that video and clearly it is older because their hair is. . .well, let’s not speak on that. ;-) But it was sweet and I want to believe it is real.

  9. I totally teared up and I haven’t liked Whitney Houston in about 15 years. Still she did her magic with that lion (he introduced them to his wife. WAAAAAAH!)

  10. Pascha says:

To Jody: yes, it is real.

There’s more of a back story on that link. Very awesome and heartwarming!

  11. Along says:

I am balling my eyes out!!!

    AWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

A small part of me was scared the lion would turn “wild” and eat the men’s head. But Whitney had me at “Will always love you”.
Thanks Jenny. I’ve just had a very stressful meeting and that video really made my day.

ps: who was that surfer dude? The new keeper?

  12. I just loved it and I ain’t lion!

  13. DC Urban Dad says:

The dad in me got sentimental and missed my family.

The cynic in me said um yeah right he died 10 minutes later.

Still a great video. And yes, I think you might have been the last. But they save the best for last.

  14. Keith says:

I’ve seen the vid plenty of times before but w/o the WH song nor the extra commentary, yeah that pulls the heartstrings. Here’s to hoping they brought extra steak to cement the old bonds.

  15. holy crap. I guess I am in touch with my emotional side. i wept, like a slobbering buffoon.
    Good stuff.

  16. OK, I love this video — LOVE IT — but.

I hate the music. I have to watch it on mute. It feels like a parody.

But on mute? Ohhhhhh, how I bawl.

  17. This video made me teary– and for some reason that lion reminded me of my son. I got a flash on what it might be like after he leaves home and goes to college and I visit him and he runs up to me, not as the little cub I once knew and loved, but as the full-on lion he has become.
    I’m such a sap.

I had never seen this video before either…perhaps we were the last two on earth.
I did see a clip of it on GMA this morning, and a joke (or maybe it wasn’t a joke?) that the lion ate the film crew.
    True?

I hope not. That would totally change things for me. =)

  18. Thom says:

Christine JUST showed me this video! I hadn’t seen it either if that makes you feel any better

This video had it all – friendship, love, suspense (will he eat them or love them?), and an awful Whitney Houston soundtrack.

You can’t get that kind of entertainment just anywhere, folks. I’m SO adopting a lion cub next.
